Dear students, Welcome to school of Physics, DAVV Indore. It gives me immense pleasure to lead the school of Physics today where many students in the past have justified their credibility to emerge as global leaders as brilliant scientists, teachers, technocrats and competent professionals in a variety of diverse fields . I am also thrilled with a heavy heart of responsibility to be partnering with present students in their exciting educational journey ahead.

The modern era has witnessed a rapid development in all scientific era . Each year, a host of new advancements in technology is unveiled. Todays technology becomes irrelevant tomorrow. This makes the task and responsibility of an aspiring physics graduate harder and harder. It is now not required an APPLE to fall to discover the laws of motion. I am sure the laws of motion would have been here even if there was no APPLE at all. As the desire for advanced technology continues to increase each day , so too does the demand for physics understanding grow exponentially . Here comes the role of a quality teaching department to a grooming mind. Our vision is to be recognized as innovative and leading physics teaching Department. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of physics requirements. The Department is one of the oldest departments of the university which was established in year 1971. As an old department and as we grow older, our responsibility becomes unlimited. I understand and realize my responsibility here is to develop excellent infrastructure and teaching faculty of the best kind ensuring quality physics education. I propose to do it together with you all. I am sure in times to come, many of you will make indelible mark nationally and internationally in the field of your choice. A not so young but dynamic faculty, whose expertise spans the range of disciplines and a very healthy work-culture will be the basic elements of my Department. However, we all know with firm belief that one can only succeed if he or she believes in his /her ability to succeed and we must nurture an attitude of self-belief, selfreliance, self-confidence, self-commitment and responsibility with honesty to succeed in life. Many principles of physics directly corelates the success in life so a good understanding of physics will lead you to a higher altitude in life where students of other disciplines find hard to reach.

I am confident that the students of the Department will justify the credibility of the Department by showing a high level of professional competence combined with ethics in their respective field. Through innovative teaching-learning process and leadership building experience at the Department, students gain vital communication and critical-thinking skills. During my tenure as HOD, the Department will always provide a platform for the students to enhance their employability skills. All faculty members of the Department are strongly committed to supporting your success. In return, I know you will study hard, seek expert opinion of the faculties and find opportunities to give back to your parents, school and society.
